RiadArchitecture Generation 03 Overview

 

  • Mahmoud M M Riad joined the practice and established RiadGeneration 03 in 2013. He has since pushed the practice to embrace digital technologies and compete in international competitions.

  • He graduated from the School of Fine Arts, Helwan University in 2006, and obtained his masters degree in architecture from the School of Architecture, Planning and Preservation at the University of Maryland - with a diploma in urban design - in 2009.

  • His master’s thesis explores the relationship between music and architecture. It has won numerous awards like the AIA Maryland 2009 Graduate Design award, and the UMD Dean’s Thesis Prize 2009, and has since been published under the name “Al Masma’ - The place for Listening “.

  • He has interned at Weigh Design Group (WDG) in 2003.

  • He has interned at Ehrenkrantz, Eckstut & Kuhn (EEK) in 2007.

  • He has worked at the University of Maryland’s Facilities Planning , Campus Planning office from 2007 to 2010.

  • He has worked at Zaha Hadid Architects from 2010 to 2013.

  • He has worked on a number of publications and his work has been exhibited worldwide since 2004.

  • Under his leadership, He has since won the 2013 YAF 10up challenge for AIA Atlanta; the Five Senses Hotel Competition in Bari, Italy; & placed third in the VinDeGarde Winewall competition; has been shortlisted for a 135 acre masterplan in Samara, Russia, and to the 2nd stage of DesignBoom’s “Design for Death” Competition; and has been consulted / secured commissions by SODIC, Orascom Hotels & Development, Landmark Sabour, Gocom Investments, & United Real Estate Company.
